Valentine

Unlike the CW's Reaper, where demons run amok in modern day life on earth, we now have ancient Greek gods living among us mortals in the CW's latest entry - Valentine. No longer is Mount Olympus a place of myth and fable, hidden in the clouds above ... nooo, it's real and resides in the hills of Hollywood. The Valentine family watches over our day-to-day love lives, intervening whenever necessary. First, there is Grace - Aphrodite - is the mother of the family, firmly holding onto the power of love. Her son, Danny - Eros - is a little more hardcore, using a magical gun instead of a bow an arrow, these days. Leo - Hercules - is the big ole bouncer of the group. And finally, there is the young (actually, she is older than the rest), quirky Phoebe handling the Oracle of Delphi.
Returning for it's 3rd season tonight (September 22nd, 2008) on NBC, is the next "evolution" in the Heroes saga, Heroes: Villians. This is one of several shows I feared would suffer from last year's writer's strike, and seriously excited about it's return to Monday nights. There is a ton of hype building up to the two-hour premiere, including an hour pre-show ... red carpet photo ops with the Heroes cast, both old and new, and such. I don't know if it can compare with the blowout premiere of FOX's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but can't wait to find out!

Ahhh, the care-free life of a young, starving artist, Wendy Watson ...
Well, OK ... not free of any cares. I mean ... there is the illegal sublet apartment you live in, the mundane temp jobs you have to work at, the recent boyfriend who dumped you, and the constant nagging calls from Mom. But hey, at least you don't have to fight big nasty monsters! ... oh wait ... I guess you do ...
Wendy finds this out the hard way, while working for her latest gig, when an experiment unleashes a genetic baddie. She defeats the monster, single-handed, and this catches the eye of The Middleman. Passed down throughout time, this secret organization has defended the planet from the forces of evil. And Wendy has proven she is the perfect candidate to become the next Middleman. As she learns her new trade, she gets access to all kinds of handy superhero gadgets ... like, the Middlemobile, the Middlewatch and the middle ... oh, you get the idea. At the Middleman HQ, MM is assisted by his faithful, yet cranky android, Ida. Ida has nothing but contempt for the Middleman's new apprentice, always coming up with some drug-related insult. But, she always does her job, and the foundation for all things MM.
